Pro 2 Kit - Professional Model Edge Pro Sharpening System

I bought my first Edge Pro back in the early nineties when I was living in Portland, Oregon and ran a restaurant in John's Landing. Back then we new this sharpener was pretty special. Since then I've moved to New Hampshire where the same Edge Pro has served me faithfully. This device exemplifies quality engineering. The simple fact that the design ensures the sharpening stones can always move in perfect parallel to the plane of the bevel of the knife means that both time and steel will be saved. Sharpening times are fast and knives last longer. That a knife's bevel can be maintained to its original manufactured specs with razor sharpness is, of course, the goal. Twenty years later it looks and works as it did when I first bought it. All of this is why I love my Edge Pro.

I had been on the fence on purchasing the apex or the professional and finally decided to go for it! I don't regret it one bit It was worth every penny! I sharpen my straight razor on it and can shave prestrop with no issues!I can bring almost any knife to shave hair in under 15 minutes! I've sharpened innumerable knives, an axe, and a sabre with this kit. I've now put literal razor edges on knives. Even toughies made of exotic steels like bench made go quickly. And you should see the huge chips that axe throws...Oh yeah I also later popped for the scissor attachment and used it on some pro shears (and some not so pro). It worked great. I haven't tried it on full-out barber hair shears, that may be a bit much for the kit. But then again, maybe it'd work.

There is no better sharpening system available. I've had my Pro model for more than 10 years. I initially got the unit to sharpen my Benchmade AFCK, but soon sharpened every blade in the house. Guests are stunned to find our 25 year old Henckels kitchen knives razor sharp. Visiting engineers are impressed by the edge and polish; know-it-all guests who touch the edge in spite of warnings end up bleeding.

Simply put, this will be the last knife sharpening equipment you'll buy, you'll never ever need anything else once you own the Edge Pro. The Edge Pro is a perfect example of "you get what you pay for", ironic though that I only found it after spending the last decade learning how to meticulously sharpen knives freehand because the Edge Pro is foolproof, requiring little to no sharpening experience to consistently produce razor edges. The best sharpener I have ever used and one of the highest quality devices as well. As a professional Quality Engineer I judge it to be nearly perfect (Course stone wears too quickly is only con I have seen). Now, I just need one designed for all my wood working chisels and hand planes...

An ingenious design and quality fit and finish. The personal touches are fabulous. My customers are quite pleased with the results.

I just recently upgraded from the Apex to this model... and wow was I glad I did! I thought the Apex was nice, until I got this baby! The one thing I didn't like about the Apex was the fact that it had 2 small suction cups that would slide around when your were doing multiple knives or putting a lot of pressure into it... with the Pro this is a non-issue! I can literally lift up a table with the Pro and it still will not move or slide, great job on this one Ben! It also is faster to use... not only can you put more pressure into the edge (if needed), no re-adjusting is required, every new stone just clips in (due to the retainer being spring loaded) - so no more screwing the knob in and out, your stones will wear slower due to the design, and there are more options as far as angles are concerned. Not to mention that you can get the scissor attachment! (which will be my next purchase). As mentioned below, Ben (the owner/creater of this system) is always EXTREMELY helptul! He is only a phone call away if you ever need him, and I have had to call him for advise on more than one occasion. I actually refer to him as my "mentor" to some of my customers when I need to get a question answered. Thanks Ben!

I wasted my money on cheaper sharpener systems when I should have purchased this one in the first place and saved myself the cash. I don't use anything else anymore as this system is THE BEST.

Sword owners, the Edge pro Pro model will produce a razor edge on any blade. This tool is a must for anyone who owns a Katana and does tameshigiri (test cutting). It will not only sharpen your blade, but it will polish the edge as well. The results are incredible.

Absolutely the finest sharpening system I have ever used. Within an hour of use I was able to sharpen my boat's fillet knives to a degree of sharpeness that was better than when they were new. Buy an Edge Pro and it will be the last system you will ever have to purchase.
