It seems like a very minor addition and "will it make that much of a difference?" type of thing, but let me tell you, it is worth it!!!! Sharpening relies on angle control, that's why you're on this website looking at the Edge Pro machine. The stop collar compe sates for slight thickness differences between your stones and it makes a world of difference!!!!! Buy it now, learn how to use it (very simple) and you will wonder how you lived without it. So simple, but it is everything!
