High-Quality Aluminum Oxide Unmounted Water Stones
These water stones deliver consistent cutting performance with clear, tactile feedback at the stone surface, so you can tell exactly how the edge is engaging and improving as you sharpen. To use with our sharpening systems, these stones need to be bonded to a 1" aluminum stone blank using contact cement, allowing you to replace worn stones and keep your sharpening setup running, while saving a little cash. A splash of water is all that’s needed for clean, controlled sharpening.
The abrasive in our standard grits are aluminum oxide — with the exception of the 120-grit stone, which is silicon carbide for faster, more aggressive material removal. Start with a coarse or medium grit to remove fatigued steel and re-establish the edge on dull knives, then move up through finer grits to refine and finish.
All stones are compatible with the Edge Pro Apex and BevelTech sharpening systems once mounted to a stone blank, providing controlled, repeatable passes on knives and small tools.
