Apex 4 Kit – Apex Model Edge Pro Sharpening System

My only regret about buying the Edge Pro Apex is that I didn’t buy it years ago! Since receiving the Apex about a week ago, I have sharpened 15 kitchen knives and 6 pocket/hunting knives. I consider myself a novice but the edges I have put on these knives with the Apex are professional in performance and appearance. I could not be more pleased. I have added the retractable magnet and the small knife attachment and both work very well. Thank you Edge Pro!

Best knife sharpening kit I've ever owned.

I am super chuffed with this kit! It is simple, effective and very efficient. I use lots of whetstones for my knives but this is superior even from the very first knife. I found it very easy to set up. It does take some getting used to, once practice is completed, you will be banging out knives every 10 minutes. It is even a pleasure trying to get a greater edge with each attempt, very pleased with it. I ordered this to Scotland as we don’t have anything like the edge over here. My kit came without any delay, it was singed too, very nice touch. Cheers

Exceeded my expectations! Takes a little practice but going from 250 to 3000 leaves a long lasting mirror sharp finish.

It works well!! Even for a beginner. So far I’ve sharpen more than 10 knives and it’s been successful. It takes a little bit of learning curve just like everything else. Thanks for making an awsome tool. More power.

I am very pleased with my Apex 4 (I've only used it once but on a few kitchen knives, a sporting knife, a few pocket knives and a hatchet). I have been embarrassed for a long time when it came to sharpening knives. My father tried to teach me when I was young, but I never got a good grasp on his technique. In college, a roommate of mine (who is now a professional blade smith) tried to teach me and it still didn't stick. However, all of my personal shame disappeared when I started using the Apex system! It still has a learning curve, but I am picking it up way quicker and better than previous attempts. I am excited to use it more and get better! Thank you very much! (It also shipped wicked fast; I purchased it one day and three days later it is on my doorstep (Oregon to Colorado))

After 30+ years of relying on my old-school whetstone I started reading about fixed-angle sharpening kits. Most of the review sites agreed that EdgePro is a top performer, so I decided to give the Apex 4 a go. I ordered direct instead of via Amazon since I the reviewers noted the excellent customer service that the company provides. So true! Not only did the kit arrive quickly, Ben gave me detailed pointers on getting started after I sent him a photo of my kitchen knive collection (40yr old Chicago Cutlery to German and Japanese white steel beauties). I’ve been practicing the methods and moves over the past few weeks and am now getting my knives back to “factory fresh” sharpness. My inherited Chicago Cutlery knives are very thick and will need many passes, but my newer quality knives are super sharp now!

All I can say is WOW, it's worth every penny. I've been sharpening knives for 50 years and this is by far the best I've ever used. The customer service is top notch, if you have a question just ask, and they get back to you. I just bought the small knife attachment and the magnet and it just keeps getting better. Buy from these guys, you won't regret it.

I was an R&D machinist for 30+ years, and a Quality Inspector for a dozen or so years. I thought I should be able to do a decent job hand sharpening my knives. I was wrong. I do however, have a good eye for craftsmanship & quality. I bought the EdgePro Apex kit 4. I'm glad I did. I did all the online comparisons & research, zeroed in on the Apex, had a lengthy & informative email conversation with Ben. Spoke with Cody to place my order. These guys are the experts & they are eager to answer all my novice questions. So, A) High quality product and B) Expert customer service. I could not expect more. My knives are now repaired from my years of hand sharpening and I know that any questions that come up are just an easy email or phone call away. Thank you Ben and Cody.

I'll be honest, I thought $250 was a bit pricey at first. However, you get what you pay for. I am terrible at freehand sharpening so I gave the Edge Pro a try. There's a bit of a learning curve, but by my third try I had a pocket knife that was sharp enough to shave my beard off, lol! I like to finish mine off with the 1000 grit stone, then use my leather strop with the green compound. Razor sharp, with an edge you can see your reflection on.

9 or 10 knives sharpened so far and I'm very happy with the Apex 4 kit and with the help provided over the phone. If you are like me, you may have some knives that have been sharpened incorrectly by hand or were just sharpened so many times that the blade got thick near the edge, I ended up using the coarse grit (120) stone quite a bit to correct for past sins and to thin worn blades (described in the instructions).
