The 4000 grit Resin Bond Diamond Matrix stone was formerly known as one of our "polishing stones" .

After experimenting with the resin bonded diamond stones in lower grits, we decided that we were going in introduce them as a whole new line of diamond wet stones in a league of their own.

If you're wanting a polished edge, and you find the polishing tapes to be too delicate, this is definitely the solution for you.

The diamond Matrix line was designed for the sharpening fanatics that insist on the best. Attention to detail and quality are immediately visible when you hold them in your hand. The 4000 grit Matrix sharpening stones have a special feel of their own, and last an incredibly long time.

As the resin bonded diamond stone wears, new diamond particles are exposed so the stone continues to cut at the same rate not losing any performance. Buy a sharpening stone today at Edge Pro Inc.

***These polish stones are ideal for the modern "super steels"

***Works great for sharpening ceramic knives

* While we do all we can to reduce voids in the stone we cannot guarantee all diamond sharpening stones will be free of them. These voids will not interrupt the sharpening performance.

This stone will put an awesome edge on your knife.

I was able to do a push cut on a paper towel. Also tried the stand alone folded printer paper slice and was able to do that as well. This was with my pocket knife at a 20 degree angle.

    4000 GRIT MATRIX SHARPENING STONE

Posted by Ted Letofsky on Aug 1st 2022

As a longer term user of the Edge Pro products, as I increase the number of knives I sharpen, I notice that the polishing tapes wear after some use. Using this stone requires almost NO learning curve. A smooth consistent touch leads to a very polished and very sharp edge. Will absolutely purchase again.

    Great, after some practice.

So..i bought this stone because i got sick of buying the polish tapes. Over time the tapes would be waaay more expensive than the matrix stones, so i bought the 1100 and 4000 grit matrix stones. The 4000 grit stone does about the same polish as the 3000 grit tape, usually. Don’t expect a luster of a polish like you can get with the tapes, but do expect an edge that is sharper, and keeps the polish you put on it. With the tapes, i could put a heck of a polish on, but eventually it got scratched up. The matrix stone polish stays the same way you put it on. That’s another thing, the scratch pattern the diamond stones leave..astonishingly smooth and beautiful. It’s hard to explain, it’s like a swirl of an edge, rather than hard and obvious scratches from the previous grit. As i said before, you can get better edges with the matrix stones. I don’t know why, i dont know how, you just can. If you can’t get a very nice polish right away, keep going, eventually the scratch pattern will polish up. I do 12 down strokes per side, then 11, then 10, and so on. This leaves a sharp, polished, unbelievable edge on my BM 940. After you’re done sharpening, take a paper towel with rubbing alcohol, preferably 90% or above, and scrub the stone with it until the metal comes off. There will be some light dark left in the stone, this wont affect anything. Neither does the rubbing alcohol. Try to clean them EVERY knife. That way you have a fresh stone every sharpening session. Overall, 10/10 would buy again, and i do recommend.

This 4000 grit Diamond Matrix Stone is fantastic! I purchase the entire new line of Diamond Matrix Stones. It leaves an awesome edge on the blade! I cannot recommend these new stones enough. IMO, this polishing stones produces a better edge then the 3000 grit polishing tape. And it is more durable!

I have been using the Edge Pro Sharpening system for 10 years now. I am very happy with the system and this polishing stone makes it that much better. Very durable and lasts forever. Very little dishing. Highly recommended!!

I purchased both the 2300 and the 4000 about a year ago and wanted to give them serious use before commenting. I find both to be absolutely indispensable. The result is no hassle, razor sharp. If you do hair shears you must have these stones although they are perfect for every fine edged implement.

I can only add to what others have said. I have been using the Edge Pro Apex for many years with the polishing tapes and these new finishing stones take my edges to a whole new level of polished sharp. They are fast, easy to use and well worth their price. I plan to get another set of 2300 and 4000 to keep on hand, because I never want to be without them.

I just bought the 2300 and 4000 stones and used them on 3 Benchmade knives with M390 steel. They were wonderful with the 1000 grit but now the edges shine like chrome and are stupid sharp. I have been using the EP Pro for several years and these stones are an absolute dream to use.

I am afraid of my ability to sharpen now! With my Edge Pro Apex 4 purchase in August and now the 2300 and 4000 grit stones the edges I give knives are jaw dropping. These stones are an amazing alternative to polishing tapes. Hair popping sharp 15 minutes or less!
