We will be temporarily selling the Professional models without the carrying cases due to stock shortages and have discounted the kits accordingly. We expect to have cases back in stock mid-November and available for purchase.
All Professional models are now shipping with the magnetized blade table as a stock feature.
The Edge Pro Professional Model is the fastest and most versatile hand sharpening system available anywhere. It adjusts from 6 to 33 degrees, and infinitely in between, with indicator marks at the most commonly used angles. The Edge Pro 4 Kit will sharpen any length blade up to 5 ¼" wide. This knife sharpening kit includes the items listed on the left.
There are a few key components of this machine that gear it towards commercial sharpeners, and genuine sharpening fanatics. The heavy duty vacuum base will stick hard to any flat surface, and has an adjustable work height feature that makes sharpening for long periods of time more comfortable.
It has a patented ramp system that allows the entire length of the stone to contact the edge when sharpening, this results in stones that stay flat longer, and last longer. The front stone holder is also spring loaded which makes changing stones fast and easy.
With 130 degrees of adjustment the Scissor Attachment will give you the ability to sharpen any scissor, hair styling shear, plane blades (up to 2 ¼" wide), any length planer blade, loppers, pruners, flat chisels, and most gouges.
The Professional model is a hand built machine made from the highest quality all American materials in Hood River, Oregon.

I am not a professional. Went looking for options when I decided that I wasn't happy with my Lansky kit; blades kept slipping in the clamp, getting scuffed, and I wasn't very happy with the edge quality I was getting for the amount of work I was putting in. I've had the Pro 4 kit for about a month now, done some practicing on some cheap toy knives and started working my way through my kitchen set. I'm very happy with the results I'm getting. The video tutorials were a great resource getting started. You can tell as soon as you open the case that you've bought something well-made, and they even put my name on the base! A nice touch of personalization. I will note that when setting the bevel to a new angle, especially with a thicker blade like the throwing knife I practiced on, the 120-grit stone can take a long time to get the job done. The Lansky kit's coarsest stone is probably much coarser. The suction cup demands a fairly smooth surface to hang on to. I couldn't make it work with the wood table I had hoped to use for a workspace, but it does just fine with a nearby countertop. One thing I think is missing is a nice way to store the whetstones for transportation. They come wrapped in padding which does the job, but the foam sheets won't survive repeated sleeving and unsleeving.
Had mine for about 6 years now.works perfectly.
After researching sharpeners for a number of years I finally decided to pull the trigger and buy the Pro 4. I wanted the ability to sharpen everything I had in the house including scissors so... Words canÕt describe the satisfaction I experienced over the next many months as knife after knife in my house was sharpened to a perfect and consistent bevel. It took only a few sessions to perfect my technique and the result was shaving sharp. From cleavers to pocket knives to fillet knives, this thing does it all. WeÕve got top quality scissors in the house (German made) and theyÕre now better than ever. After-market stones are also available elsewhere if needed. What I love is that I donÕt have to sit on the French porch with an Arkansas flat stone trying to convince myself and others that my sub-par edge is perfect. It never was. Equally important is that I donÕt have to clamp the knife into jaws risking marring the blade. ThereÕs nothing worse than sharpening a friends knife and giving it back to him with jaw damage. The quality of this product is exactly what it needs to be. ItÕs not over-built, which would drive the price out of reach and itÕs not garbage either. This thing will last a lifetime under normal wear and tear. IÕm so pleased with this sharpening system. What a bargain.
I have had the edge pro, first the apex for a couple years then the professional model. I also got the scissor attachment. All have exceeded my expectations which in todays market is highly unusual. I have other systems that are good but can't consistently provide the quality edge that I get with edge pro.
I've had this kit for a few years now (upgraded myself from the Apex model) and it's an absolute dream to work with. It took my friends a little while to come around to bringing their knives over to get sharpened, but now they jump at the chance every time I offer to breath new life into their dull kitchen utensils.
I started with the Apex in 2006. Transitioned to the Pro last year due to a kind gift from a friend. I am a 69 year old boy scout. Been sharpening knives and doing outdoor forever. Nothing, nothing I have ever used comes remotely close to Mr. Dale's System. I love the new magnets and Slide Guides. They work great as a team. The Diamond Stones are to Die For. Wonderful pieces of equipment. It took me a while to learn the best way to use and to unlearn some of my old bad habits. I once heard that "Good is not Cheap and Cheap is not Good." It is true here in spades. If you like sharp knives, this is the equipment.
I purchased several years ago. I puchesed several of the sliding arms that hold each of the stones. Also the polishing tapes mounted on the glass backs because of the amount of volume I do I have several thousand hours of experience on this fine piece of equipment hands down the best assortment of stones and polishing tapes the best quality everything and best customer service bar None.
Top quality throughout, I haven't used many other top of line knife sharpeners out there. But this Edge Pro Professional Model is outstanding, I got it to sharpen my own knives after taking my knives to many different places to get them sharpened receiving mediocre results. This Edge Pro is very high quality, easy to set up and use and well worth the money spent. Customer service is the best, keep in mind they are on Pacific Time.
One of the very best sharpening systems out there. And the very best I have ever tried. As a German I appreciate quality products and this oozes quality. I have had mine for a few years now and it is as good as the first day I used it. It will last for generations. For once, you get actually true value for money.
My brother and I now own and use this sharpening system extensively. It is very much worth the money. I recommend this system without reservation.
I just received this kit yesterday, and I took it out for a test run today. I had high expectations, and they were all met and exceeded by this wonderful machine. The engineering is beautiful in an of itself, and the function blows everything else I've tried out of the water. Best purchase I've made in a long time. Buy it - you won't regret it.
I have this kit (minus box) for over a year. Despite it is expensive, my wife says that this is my best purchase, ever. The knives in our house are now dangerously sharp and my wife does not want back. Thank you Ben from my family!
